Chimera

characters

Animals created artificially; remain out of the traditional classification scope.

Chimeras are a creation akin to the Second Period. They are mixes of various species' features and were majoritarily used for "creating a higher being". Every humanoid chimera will

This mixture is made artificially through several methods:

Methods

Cross breeding

Common method used through the First and Second periods where individuals with desirable traits were breeded together for posterity, while the rest is slaughtered.

While being easy and reliable, cross breeding will destroy any genetic diversity in the species, leaving oportunity for natural-ish extinctions. Another important note is that it will only work if the target individuals are healthy enough to breed and share genetic family with their partner, or else nothing will happen.

Magic welding

Method akin to mending broken parts with glue, a section of an already existing individual is cut off and replaced by another from another invididual.

The major danger for this method is the rejection of the transplanted part, which may result in the death of both.

Embryo modification

Method where a fertilized embryo is prematurely removed from the womb or egg and modified for the desired result. Pairs well with welding.

It is of immeasurable hardship to keep an isolated embryo alive and developing, but if done correctly, shall result in the best outcome from all methods.

Common Chimeras

Centaur (hexapod, ofki)

Dragon (hexapod, ofki)

Dragoness (hexapod, anachi)

A junction of human and dragon-like features, such as: feathers, scales, hoarding and strength.
