Soul Eater

A shonen manga series by 大久保篤 (atsushiohkubo) that I can count at least two watches and reads each. In my room lies volumes 9 to 25, officially translated (to brazillian portuguese) and distributed by JBC (first release).

In a world where people can turn their bodies -parts of or totally- into weapons, a meisters and weapons school created by the death himself exists to prevent the great evil: 鬼神 (kishin). We follow two protagonists: Maka Albarn (meister) and Soul Evans (weapon; scythe) and their classmates, teachers and friends: Black☆Star, Sid Barrett, Kilik Rung, Death, Kimial Diehl, Ox Ford, Death The Kid, Franken Stein, Crona, Justin Law, Spirit Albarn, Marie Mjolnir, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa, Elisabeth Thompson, Fire, Thunder, Harvar D. Éclair, Jacqueline O'Lantern Dupre, Ragnarok, Azusa Yumi, Patricia Thompson, Giriko, Medusa Gorgon, Eruka Frog and Free. That's quite the main cast.

Soul Eater is ultimately an work about adolescence, in shonen (comic aimed at boys at age ~13) form. Growing up, keeping secrets, making and maintaining friends, duties, adventures, betrayals and romance are all topics worked in it, although not to a great extent due to it's target audience and the "work culture" in Japan, as stated by the author in one of the volumes.
